Scenario

Your team ships weekly. A dependency owned by another team has failed intermittently and caused two incidents this month. A release is due on Friday. What is the best next step?

Choose the answer you would give. The exam asks for the best decision, not a perfect one.

Do I need the ATP® first?
No. The CTP® has its own requirements: a bachelor’s degree and 36 months of technical leadership, or 60 months without a degree. The ATP® is the credential for the first two years. See the ATP®.
What does “scenario-based” mean?
Each question puts you in a delivery situation, such as a failing dependency or a risky release, and asks for the best decision. It tests judgement, not recall. The question above is a sample.
How is the exam delivered?
It is a timed online exam with an integrity attestation: 150 questions in 180 minutes.
How long does the CTP® last, and how do I renew?
Three years. In each cycle you earn 60 Technical Development Units, log them and submit them for audit. Renewal costs $99 for members and $179 for non-members. How TDUs work.
Who teaches the preparation course?
Only licensed Authorized Training Partners. Every instructor must hold the credential and pass an annual Certified IICTP Instructor evaluation. Find a partner.
How does an employer check my CTP®?
They enter your credential ID or name in the public registry and see your status, dates and signed record. See a sample record.
How an employer checks a credential. Sample record, not a real holder.
What does the certificate look like?
Every certificate carries a unique ID and links to its public record. Look one up.
